Comforting Turkish Potato & Minced Meat Bake
A classic Turkish mother's recipe featuring sliced potatoes layered with a savory minced meat mixture, baked to perfection.

Ingredients
- 4 medium potatoes
- 300g ground beef
- 1 large onion
- 2 green peppers
- 1 tomato
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- Vegetable oil (for light frying)
- Salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes
Instructions
Peel the potatoes, slice them into thick rounds, lightly fry them in oil, and arrange them in a baking dish.
For the filling, sauté the chopped onion in a pan. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
Add chopped green peppers and tomatoes. Stir in the spices and cook for 5 minutes.
Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly over the potato slices.
Dissolve the tomato paste in 1 cup of hot water and pour it over the dish.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 20 minutes until the top is slightly roasted.
